PACU RN – 13-Week Travel Assignment
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced PACU RN for a 13-week assignment working day shifts. You'll provide direct patient care in the post-anesthesia recovery unit, managing patients across a diverse surgical service line including orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, ENT, ophthalmology, and endovascular procedures.
Schedule & Expectations
- Shift: Day 5x8-hour (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
- Float: Yes, to pre-op and procedural areas as needed
- Call: Available for nights and weekends on an as-needed basis
- Orientation: 20 hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid California RN license
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum 5 years nursing experience
- Demonstrated PACU experience
- BSN preferred
Clinical Scope
You'll manage Phase I and Phase II recovery for adult and geriatric patients. Core responsibilities include airway assessment, conscious sedation monitoring, central line and chest tube management, pain management, discharge instructions, and coordinated care with physical therapy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy teams.
Ideal Candidate
Previous charge nurse experience, trauma center experience, and familiarity with procedural sedation are preferred. GI endoscopy experience is a plus.
