Interventional Radiology Nurse
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Interventional Radiology nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work day shifts in a fast-paced IR suite performing a diverse range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- On-call: 1 weekday per week and every 7–8 weekends
- Scrubs: Navy blue
- Orientation: 24 hours
Clinical Scope
You'll assist with or independently manage:
- LVO-thrombectomy, embolization (including uterine and pulmonary), and Y-90 radioembolization
- TIPS (transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt) placement
- Nephrostomy and gastrostomy tube placements
- Paracentesis and thoracentesis
- Lung, liver, and kidney biopsies
- IVC filter placement and dialysis access interventions
- Carotid and cerebral angiography with stenting
- Central venous access, PICC placement, and port management
- Procedural sedation monitoring and reversal agent administration
- Vascular closure device management
Patient Population & Acuity
Daily census of 25 with diagnoses including stroke, hemorrhage, liver and lung cancer, pulmonary embolism, and end-stage renal disease.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
- Competency with end-tidal CO2 monitoring, ACT, dysrhythmia interpretation, and vasopressor management
- Valid state nursing license
- First-time travelers welcome
