Certified Surgical Technologist – Operating Room | Rochester, NY

Shift: Mid 4x10-Hour | 13:00–23:30

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 19, 2026

This busy surgical department operates across multiple service lines, handling 40–60 cases daily. The OR team manages a broad and complex case mix requiring a highly skilled, adaptable CST with solid experience across multiple surgical specialties.

Clinical Scope — Procedures Include:

• Bariatric: Gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, lap band
• Vascular: Aortic/abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, endovascular aneurysm repair, femoral-popliteal bypass
• General/Colorectal: Cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colon resection (open/lap), hernia repair, thyroidectomy, mastectomy, robotic colorectal surgery
• Neuro/Spine: Craniotomy, VP shunt insertion, laminectomy/discectomy, cervical/lumbar fusion, XLIF
• Orthopedic: Total hip and knee replacement, closed/open fracture reduction, spinal fusion
• Gynecology: BTL, D&C, laparoscopic gyn procedures, colporrhaphy
• Urology: Prostatectomy, nephrectomy, TURP, cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, lithotripsy
• ENT/Thoracic: Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, tracheostomy, radical neck dissection, VATS, mediastinoscopy
• Robotic: Da Vinci Xi platform experience utilized

Requirements:

• CST certification (NBSTSA) required
• NY state license required — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 4 years of OR scrub experience; prior travel experience required
• Electronic health records experience required
• Floating required across service lines
• On-call required: 6 shifts per 8-week block, including weekends and holidays
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Scrubs provided
