Emergency Department Nurse

Position Overview

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join a fast-paced team managing approximately 90 patient visits daily across 15 treatment rooms. You'll care for diverse age groups—from infants to geriatric patients—in an acute care environment requiring strong clinical judgment and procedural skills.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 9:00 AM–9:30 PM (your start time will be determined by the facility)
• Guaranteed 32 hours/week; alternate weeks may include 36 hours
• 13-week contract
• Weekend coverage required (approximately 8 hours on Sundays)
• Float assignments within the ED as needed based on skill set

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years emergency nursing experience (adult and pediatric ER)
• Active New York State RN license (required at time of submission)
• BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Proficiency in telemetry and rhythm identification
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms; you will be required to pass a hospital-proctored exam demonstrating >80% accuracy on rhythm strips and 100% accuracy on critical rhythms
• Electronic health record experience

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Flu vaccine required by November 1 (medical or religious exemptions must be submitted 2 weeks prior)
• EKG competency exam (must pass with 100% on internal assessment; facility exam requires minimum 85%)
• Completion of all orientation modules before start date
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
