Med Surg Tele

Med/Surg Telemetry | Travel RN | Winston-Salem, NC

13-Week Contract | Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

This adult Med/Surg Telemetry unit provides care focused on restoring physiologic stability, preventing complications, and achieving quality patient outcomes. The unit is supported by CNAs, a dedicated discharge and admission nurse Monday through Friday, and a full interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response.

Shift & Scheduling

• Every other weekend required (scheduling may vary based on unit need)
• Float requirement to sister units
• 36-hour orientation, with hospital classes required each day of the first week

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Telemetry is monitored remotely by a tech; nurse must be able to independently identify and treat dysrhythmias

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Key Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Blood product administration
• Central line and peripheral line care
• Non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Rapid response/code team activation

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Navy blue
• NC or Compact RN license required (pending licensure accepted at submission)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• RTO must be pre-approved; no additional RTO requests after signing
