Med/Surg Telemetry — Night Shift | Winston-Salem, NC

Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)

Contract Duration: 26 weeks

Start Date: October 2026

This surgical nursing role serves an adult and geriatric population with a focus on post-operative care. Patient diagnoses include colorectal, general surgery, GI (including colon resections), hepatobiliary, orthopedic/spine, urology, and vascular surgical cases. Candidates without dedicated post-surgical experience should have a strong background across general, ortho/spine, GI, vascular, and hepatobiliary settings.

Schedule & Coverage

• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Occasional float within the facility
• Self-scheduling based on unit needs and nurse manager input
• 36 hours, 48 hours, or block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis

Required Skills & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS required
• IV starts and telemetry interpretation required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Experience with: central line care, PICC line management, heparin and insulin protocols, PCA, epidural analgesia, wound care/wound vac, chest tubes, surgical drains, blood product administration, and dysrhythmia interpretation

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Navy blue or white (not provided)
• Orientation: 36 hours
• RTO must be pre-approved; no additional RTO requests after contract signing
• Call-off policy is strictly enforced
• NC or Compact RN license required (pending licensure acceptable at submission)
