ICU Nurse – Rotating Shifts

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced ICU nurse for a 17-week contract in a high-acuity cardiovascular and surgical intensive care setting. You'll provide direct patient care in a dynamic environment managing complex, critically ill adults and geriatric patients.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour rotating shifts (days: 07:00–19:30 | nights: 19:00–07:30)
• Weekend coverage required
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within 10-mile radius as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
• Active PA or Compact nursing license
• Minimum 2 years ICU nursing experience
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred

Clinical Scope

You'll manage post-cardiac surgery patients, ECMO cases, mechanical ventilation, and hemodynamic monitoring. Core competencies include:

• Central line and arterial line management; CVP monitoring
• Cardiac drip titration and vasoactive medication management
• Ventilator management and respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula)
• CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management
• 12-lead ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Advanced devices: IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, transcatheter valve procedures
• Procedural sedation and emergency medication administration

Support Services

IV teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response, physical therapy, and interpretation services.

Compliance & Start Requirements

• SSN, DOB, and RTO required at submission
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and labs within 24–48 hours of signing
• All compliance cleared by Wednesday before start
• ~1 hour pre-start modules required
