Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) — Travel RN

Lubbock, TX | Days 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Contract

This children's hospital PICU is seeking an experienced travel RN to join a dedicated pediatric team. The unit cares for neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents across a range of high-acuity diagnoses, with strong interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 3×12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00)
• Self-scheduling; shifts may be consecutive or split across the week
• Weekends required (variable)
• 36-hour orientation

Float Requirements

Travelers may float to Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU as needed. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment.

Required Certifications

• BLS, PALS
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
• Compact RN license must be in hand at time of submission

Clinical Skills

• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Intubation assist/management
• Hemodynamic monitoring and IV vasopressors
• Central line and PICC line care
• ICP monitoring and EVD management
• Chest tube management
• Continuous sedation, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Post-cardiac surgery care
• Isolation precautions/PPE
