Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift role on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. You'll care for adult patients across a range of diagnoses, from post-surgical recovery to chronic disease management, with strong interdisciplinary support.

Shift & Schedule

• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Schedule: 36/36 block (every other weekend; rotating holidays)
• No call required
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Float: Required to other units as needed
• Orientation: Begins Sundays; includes 16 hours of nonbillable orientation and online CBLs

Clinical Details

• Daily Census: 12–23 adults
• Key Skills: Telemetry monitoring, IV management, central line care, blood product administration, chest tube management, post-operative wound care, dysrhythmia recognition, high-flow oxygen delivery, and more
• Interdisciplinary Support: PT, respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, rapid response, pharmacy

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience
• AHA BLS certification (required; no other certifications accepted)
• RN or LPN license
• First-time travelers welcome
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area

Critical Compliance Notes

• Must pass Relias basic EKG test within 72 hours of offer acceptance (two attempts allowed)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Drug screening required 12–14 days prior to start
• Facial hair must be trimmed/removed for fit testing (CDC compliance)

Actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties.
