Med Surg Tele

Med/Surg Telemetry – Registered Nurse | Night Shift | Jackson, TN

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)

This position is on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry floor caring for adult and geriatric patients. The unit maintains an active daily census and supports a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses with full interdisciplinary support, including respiratory services, physical therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response, and more.

Clinical Scope

Candidates should be comfortable with:

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Central line, PICC line, and port access/management
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Blood product administration and heparin protocols
• IV insulin protocols and ABG interpretation
• Pre/post cardiac cath, hemodialysis management, and neuro care
• Tracheostomy care, wound vac, chest tube management, and PCA
• CVA, seizure, TBI, spinal cord injury, and substance withdrawal patients
• Total joint replacement and ortho trauma care

Requirements

• Active Tennessee or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (travel experience preferred)
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Electronic health record proficiency within the past 12 months required and must be documented on submission profile
• Float requirement: other Med/Surg Telemetry units or low-acuity ICU
• No on-call required
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period (approximately 16 per contract)
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• 36-hour orientation
