Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced nurse for its Intermediate Care Unit. You'll provide direct patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment managing high-acuity cases.
Shift & Schedule
- Day shift: 12-hour, 4 days per week
- 16-week contract
- ASAP start
- Guaranteed 48 hours per week
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
You'll care for patients with conditions including:
- Sepsis and septic shock
- Acute heart failure
- Hypertensive emergencies
- Respiratory failure and COPD exacerbations
- Chronic kidney disease
- Type 2 diabetes
- Substance abuse disorders
- Encephalopathy
Responsibilities
- Administer medications including heparin drips
- Monitor and manage critically ill patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a dynamic care environment
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- RN license (as appropriate for state)
