RN Med/Surg – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
Join the medical-surgical unit for a 13-week travel assignment. You'll provide direct patient care in a general med/surg setting, managing patients across the acuity spectrum and collaborating with an interprofessional team.
Shift & Schedule
- 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Rotating weekends
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Floating to other units as needed
Clinical Scope
You'll perform core nursing procedures including IV initiation, Foley catheter insertion, dressing changes, and ADL assistance. You're responsible for maintaining a safe, therapeutic care environment; implementing patient-centered care practices including AIDET and bedside reporting; hourly rounding; and documenting care.
Requirements
- Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses not accepted)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years med/surg or hospital specialty experience
- Strong assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
Dress Code
- Navy blue scrubs with facility embroidery (proof of purchase required)
- Clean, healthy nails (no artificial, gel, or acrylic)
- Hair neat and pulled back if shoulder-length or longer
- Visible piercings (other than ears) not permitted
- Tattoos should be covered when feasible
