Med/Surg RN | Travel Contract | Pagosa Springs, CO
This 13-week travel contract places an experienced Med/Surg RN in a hospital setting in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, delivering observation and inpatient care to a diverse adult patient population.
Shift & Schedule
- Day shift: 0615–1845
- 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Start date: October 7, 2026
Clinical Scope
You'll perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, and blood products, and monitor patients for changes in condition. Additional responsibilities include cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation, wound care, discharge planning, and patient and family education. Care transitions use SBAR format, and interdisciplinary collaboration is expected throughout.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Med/Surg or Emergency Room RN experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current Colorado or Compact RN license
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Experience with electronic health record documentation required
Work Environment
This is a fast-paced inpatient unit with frequent interruptions and moderate noise. The role requires physical stamina — lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and assisting with patient movement and positioning. Exposure to blood/body fluids, communicable disease, and hazardous materials is possible.
Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, sound clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work independently in a demanding hospital environment.
