Oncology Infusion Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced oncology infusion nurse to join its cancer center. You'll administer chemotherapy, biologics, and supportive care infusions to patients while managing vascular access and monitoring for treatment responses and complications.

Your Responsibilities

• Administer IV medications, chemotherapy, and biologic therapies per physician orders
• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion; monitor for adverse reactions
• Initiate and manage vascular access (peripheral IVs, PICC lines, implanted ports)
• Educate patients and families on infusion therapy, side effects, and home care
• Respond promptly to infusion reactions with appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the care team on treatment plans
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infusion equipment and supplies; ensure infection control standards
• Monitor lab values and adjust care per protocol

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license (or valid compact license)
• AHA BLS certification
• Oncology Nursing Certification (ONS) or Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification
• Cancer center preceptor experience
• 2+ years of medical-surgical chemotherapy infusion experience
• Strong IV insertion and phlebotomy skills
• Strong peripheral, PICC, and port access competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
