Emergency Department RN — Kansas City, MO
Nights | 4x12 | 13-Week Contract
This Emergency Department opportunity spans a fast-paced, multi-area unit encompassing a Rapid treatment area, Main ED, and a dedicated psych-safe observation pod. Night shift runs 19:00–07:00, with 48 guaranteed hours available as an option.
Clinical Scope
The ED manages a broad range of acuities and presentations, with clinical procedures including chest tube insertion, port placement, arterial line management, and ventilator/BiPAP management. The unit also handles EKG interpretation and hemodynamic support. Nurses may float to a sister ED location as needed.
Schedule Requirements
- 4 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays minimum per 4-week schedule
- 2 major holidays and 2 minor holidays required per contract
What You'll Need
- Active RN license in Missouri (or compact eligibility)
- Strong prioritization and time management skills in a high-volume ED setting
- De-escalation training required; CPI certification preferred
- Experience with behavioral health patients a plus (psych-safe pod experience valued)
- Team-oriented, patient-focused, and receptive to feedback
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
