Emergency Department RN — Salem, VA

13-Week Contract | 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

This fast-paced Emergency Department opportunity is ideal for experienced travel nurses who thrive in a high-volume, high-acuity environment. The unit manages a broad range of emergent presentations and is staffed by a collaborative, team-oriented group of RNs and paramedics.

Shift & Schedule

• 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
• Four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling period (Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days)
• No on-call requirement
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Scope

The ED team handles a wide range of acute and critical cases, including:

• Rapid sequence intubation (RSI)
• Sepsis interventions
• Stroke protocol with tPA administration
• Central line placement
• Psychiatric patient management
• Inter-facility transfers (EMTALA)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of emergency department RN experience
• Completion of 2–3 prior travel assignments
• Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume emergency settings
• ENPC, NRP, or NIHSS certification
