NICU – Travel Nurse | Night Shift | Oxnard, CA

13-Week Contract | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 Hours Guaranteed/Week

This Level 3 NICU opportunity is ideal for an experienced neonatal nurse comfortable managing high-acuity patients across all gestational ages. The unit cares for a diverse patient population including premature infants, sepsis, neonatal cooling, and substance abuse/withdrawal cases. Candidates with cooling experience are preferred.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights, 7 PM – 7 AM
• Every other weekend required; holidays rotated with permanent staff
• Float responsibility: L&D or postpartum to care for babies (first to float, every other weekend)

Unit Details

• Level 3 NICU

• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
• Neonatologist on call; no in-house IV team or monitor tech
• No ECMO; surgical cases are transferred out
• Attendance at deliveries preferred
• Scrub color: Navy

Orientation

• 2–3 unit-specific shifts

Required Certifications

• BLS
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of Level 3 NICU experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Spanish-speaking skills preferred
• BSN not required

Cancellation Policy

• Up to 4 shifts may be canceled per 13-week assignment

A strong candidate for this role is clinically confident in managing complex neonates, comfortable floating within the mother-baby service line, and ready to integrate quickly with a focused, specialized team.
