Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Dickson City, PA
This 13-week travel contract places you in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department on night shift, caring for patients across all age groups — neonates through geriatrics. The ED manages a broad, high-acuity patient mix and is supported by a strong interdisciplinary team including Respiratory Services, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Social Services, Physical Therapy, and a Unit Secretary.
Schedule & Assignment Details
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-hour shifts
- 13-week contract
- Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) required
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call requirements
- First-time travelers welcome
Clinical Scope
You'll manage a diverse caseload including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, STEMI, multi-system trauma, drug overdose, respiratory emergencies, pediatric emergencies, psychiatric holds, and procedural sedation. Core skills include arterial line and central line management, ventilator care, vasopressor administration, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, intubation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ABG interpretation, and .
Required Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
Preferred Certifications
- TNCC, NRP, CPI
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience
- Prior charge experience preferred
- Valid Pennsylvania RN license required at time of submission
- Scrubs: Navy blue
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
Note: Pennsylvania fingerprinting (PA Childline) is required and must be completed within one week of contract signing.
