Progressive Care Unit Nurse – 13-Week Contract
About the Role
The facility is seeking experienced nurses for its Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown). You'll care for patients transitioning from acute to lower-acuity settings, managing post-operative recovery, cardiac monitoring, and other step-down level diagnoses.
Schedule & Flexibility
- 3x12-hour rotating shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Shifts may rotate to meet operational needs
- Must work at least every other holiday
- Potential to float to related units caring for similar patient populations
Requirements
- 12 months permanent RN experience in progressive/stepdown care (required)
- Active, current licenses: Permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand at time of submission
- Active certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- One professional reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) from the past 12 months
During Orientation
- ECG rhythm recognition assessment and SafeMedicate training (passing score required; maximum 2 attempts)
Contract Details
- 13 weeks | Start: October 23, 2026
- BCI/FBI background clearance required within 48 hours of contract signing
- Extensions available up to 18 months; 6-month break required thereafter
What to Know
- The facility does not accept open background cases or license hits
- Annual competency modules required for nurses extending beyond one year
- Background screening and drug screening per facility policy
