Radiology Technologist

Position Overview

Prepare patients for radiological examinations, explain procedures clearly, and perform diagnostic imaging as ordered by physicians. This role combines direct patient care with technical imaging expertise in a busy radiology department.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift, weekdays
• Every 3rd weekend evening shift
• 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and explain procedures in understandable terms
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers (name and date of birth)
• Review exam requests and coordinate scheduling with physicians' offices and nursing staff
• Position patients correctly and determine proper technique for diagnostic views
• Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR equipment safely and efficiently
• Manage equipment startup, shutdown, and maintenance
• Transfer images to PACS and document patient information accurately
• Assist Radiologists during fluoroscopic and special procedures
• Transport portable equipment throughout the hospital (ED, OR, PACU, nursing units)
• Maintain sterile technique in the operating room
• Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast media as needed
• Respond appropriately to contrast reactions and document findings
• Maintain radiation safety standards and promote ALARA principles
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Perform quality assurance and clerical duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist certification
• Current BLS (Healthcare Provider level)
• One year of radiology experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow written/verbal instructions
