Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department, working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a 13-week contract. You'll deliver professional nursing care across all age groups—neonates through geriatrics—following Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) standards and current evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

• all patients entering the ED and prioritize care based on physical and psychosocial needs
• Assess, document, and manage comprehensive nursing histories, including chief complaints and health status
• Develop and continuously update individualized care plans based on ongoing patient assessment
• Manage complications and emergencies per facility policies and ENA standards
• Recognize changes in patient status and direct appropriate interventions
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans before care initiation
• Document patient responses to interventions to ensure quality care

Required Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure
• American Heart Association certifications (current and valid):
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Valid National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as a team member and patient advocate
• High emotional intelligence and professional demeanor under pressure

Shift Details

• Schedule: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• On-call assignments as needed based on patient volume
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Experience with electronic health records is preferred.
