Emergency Department RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

Join the emergency department as a registered nurse on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). This is a 13-week contract assignment in Rockport, TX, with guaranteed 36 hours per week.

About the Unit

The emergency department operates 24/7 and manages acute care patients across 6 treatment rooms plus 4 vertical bed spaces. You'll work as part of a lean, focused team—3 RNs (including charge) per night shift—with typical patient ratios of 3–4 patients per nurse.

Clinical Scope

You'll perform a full range of emergency nursing procedures including:

• IV insertion and blood draws
• 12-lead EKG
• Foley catheter placement
• Orthopedic splinting
• Wound care and assessment

The unit is equipped with vital sign monitoring, BiPAP, ventilators, nebulizers, and AED capabilities to support patients across varying acuity levels.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications required
• Prior experience in a fast-paced emergency department strongly preferred
• Willingness to float within the emergency setting as needed
• Ability to work weekends
