Respiratory Therapist – 12-Hour Night Shift

About the Role

The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work the night shift (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) on a 4-week rotating schedule with weekends and holidays as assigned. This is a fast-paced role covering multiple units and settings.

Clinical Scope

You'll manage respiratory care across inpatient floors (medical-surgical, progressive care, ICU), the emergency department, rehabilitation, post-anesthesia care, skilled nursing, endoscopy, catheterization lab, and outpatient settings. Daily responsibilities include:

• Administering breathing treatments and managing respiratory equipment
• Drawing arterial blood gases and capillary sticks for I-Stat analysis
• Assisting with intubations (assist only)
• Monitoring and troubleshooting ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
• Caring for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients (non-NICU settings)

You'll perform approximately 90–100 treatments per day.

Requirements

• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA)
• RRT via NBRC or grandfathered CRT (WV Board of Respiratory Care)
• Current, unexpired driver's license
• WV CARES clearance prior to start
• Preferred: 3–4 years experience; first-time travelers welcome

Unit Support

A supervisor or director is on-site Monday–Friday; charge RTs staff all other shifts. You'll never be the sole RT on duty.

Dress Code

Teal scrubs with acceptable scrub pattern shirt.

Guaranteed Hours

36 hours per week. Orientation: 1–3 shifts with preceptor.
