OR RN – Outpatient Surgical Services
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week assignment in the outpatient surgical pavilion. You'll work day shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), Monday through Friday, with no weekend or holiday commitments.
Unit Details
This busy surgical unit performs approximately 25 cases daily across six operating rooms, serving adult and geriatric patients. You'll rotate through general surgery, gynecology, breast/plastics, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, and ophthalmology cases. Common procedures include joint replacements, arthroscopy, mastectomy, hernia repair, hysterectomy, and laparoscopic-assisted surgeries.
Your Role
You'll function as a scrub nurse across all surgical specialties, with flexibility to float to the main OR as needed. Orientation includes 24 hours of direct training plus up to 7 hours of facility-specific modules. Late-stay sign-up is required; call coverage is on a voluntary basis.
Requirements
- Active Virginia RN license (required at submission)
- BLS certification
- 2+ years of OR nursing experience
- ACLS and CNOR preferred
- Proficiency across multiple surgical specialties

- Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, phlebotomy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
