Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced MICU nurse for a 13-week night shift contract. You'll provide direct care to high-acuity adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Schedule: Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday); no call required
• Holiday Requirement: One winter holiday (Eve and Day)
• Float Requirement: Yes, to ICU, intermediate, and telemetry units

Required Qualifications

• BSN
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• 2+ years of nursing experience
• MICU experience required
• Current state nursing license

Clinical Scope

You'll manage complex, multi-system patients including those with sepsis, respiratory failure, ARDS, renal and liver failure, post-cardiac arrest, and oncology cases. Clinical responsibilities include:

• Ventilator management and care of intubated patients
• Central line, arterial line, and PICC line management
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
• Continuous renal replacement therapy (CVVHD)
• Bedside procedures: tracheostomy and PEG placements, CVC placement, bronchoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy
• Blood product administration and massive transfusion protocol
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management

• Orientation: 36 hours
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

• Preferred: Previous charge nurse experience
