Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract | Abington, PA

This is a 13-week day shift contract on a high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit. The unit manages complex obstetric cases and serves as a regional transfer center, providing care for patients across a broad spectrum of antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum needs.

Shift & Schedule

• Days, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Every 3rd weekend required (minimum 8 weekend shifts per contract)
• At least 1 major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• No on-call requirements
• No floating

Clinical Scope

The unit averages 12–15 deliveries per day and supports a full range of obstetric procedures including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, postpartum tubals, cerclages, and D&E for postpartum hemorrhage. , OR, and PACU capabilities are all on-unit. Staff care for neonatal and adult patient populations, with interdisciplinary support from pharmacy, respiratory, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience
• BSN required
• Active NRP, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate or Beginner certification required
• Travel nursing experience required

Key Clinical Skills

• External and internal fetal monitoring; IUPC placement
• Management of pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and postpartum hemorrhage
• Magnesium sulfate, oxytocin, and antihypertensive therapy
• Neonatal resuscitation; APGAR assessment
• High-risk antepartum and malpresentation management
