Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift | 13-Week Contract | Abington, PA

This high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit serves as a regional transfer center, managing a busy caseload of approximately 12–15 deliveries per day. The unit operates with full interdisciplinary support and handles a wide range of obstetric and surgical procedures.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-hour shifts
• Every 3rd weekend (Friday/Saturday)
• At least 1 major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• No on-call requirement; no floating

Clinical Scope

The unit manages high-risk antepartum and intrapartum patients, including pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, preterm labor, placenta previa, and multiple gestations. Procedures performed on the unit include cesarean sections, postpartum tubals, cerclages, and D&E for postpartum hemorrhage. Neonatal resuscitation, fetal monitoring (internal and external), and of obstetrical patients are core responsibilities.

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• BSN required
• NRP, ACLS, and BLS — all required
• AWHONN Intermediate or Beginner certification required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience
• Travel experience required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required

Fingerprinting Note

Pennsylvania Childline fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly after contract signing due to processing timelines.
