Medical-Surgical Telemetry Float Position

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for a 12-hour night shift (7 PM–7 AM) position on a medical-surgical telemetry float team. This is a 15-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Shift & Schedule

• 7 PM–7 AM, 12-hour nights
• 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week rotation
• Leadership-created schedule; flexibility to fill staffing gaps is expected
• Time-off requests must be submitted before your start date
• Rare on-call for low-census situations
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

Float Pool & Clinical Scope

You'll float across multiple units and acuity levels, including:

• Medical-surgical telemetry (primary assignment)
• Post-cardiac, post-surgical, and trauma patients
• Specialties: Cardiac, neuro, oncology, renal, bariatrics, ortho, ED observation, rehab, and others
• ICU (low-acuity holds within your skill set)
• PCU/stepdown units

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years MS-telemetry experience (prior neuro experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS (AHA)
• Active RN license
• Willing to travel 60 miles; driver's license required
• Must be in-state for orientation week

Unit Specifics

• 1–2 day preceptor orientation
• Charge nurse per unit (does not typically take patient assignment)
• Nurse aides available
• Heparin titration within scope
• Respiratory equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP)
• Any scrub color
