Operating Room – Travel Assignment
Position Overview
The facility's operating room is seeking an experienced OR nurse for a 16-week assignment. You'll work day shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), three 12-hour shifts per week, in a multi-specialty surgical environment.
Required Experience
- Minimum 4 years of operating room experience
- HARD STOP requirements: You must have hands-on experience in neurology, transplant, general surgery, gynecology, and orthopedics
- Current travel nursing experience required
- Georgia or Compact RN license
Clinical Scope
The OR handles a broad range of surgical services including bariatrics, urology, neurology, ENT, plastics, transplant (solid organ), ophthalmology, general surgery, gynecology, and orthopedics. You'll scrub cases such as craniotomies, fusions (ALIF, XLIF, lumbar), organ donation, joint replacements, hysterectomies, and complex abdominal procedures.
Staffing & Scheduling
- Float required: within facility scope and to outpatient as needed
- Weekend coverage: variable (details during interview)
- Call: variable (details during interview)
- Maximum 7 days RTO per contract
- Blackout dates: 11/23–11/29 and 12/21–1/3 (no holiday RTO approved during this assignment)
Compliance
Full onboarding compliance required to start on time. All compliance documents must be submitted by the Tuesday before your start date. If incomplete, your start will push back 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedules.
BLS certification required.
