Operating Room Nurse – Travel Assignment
Position Overview
The facility's Operating Room is seeking an experienced OR nurse for a 16-week travel assignment. You'll work day shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), three 12-hour shifts per week, in a multi-specialty surgical environment.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of OR experience (required; no first-time travelers)
- Must have hands-on experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics — this is a hard stop requirement
- Current RN licensure (Georgia or Compact state)
- BLS certification
- Travel experience required
Clinical Scope
You'll support diverse service lines including bariatrics, urology, neurology, ENT, plastics, transplant (solid organ), ophthalmology, general surgery, GYN, and orthopedics. Procedures include craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar/ALIF/XLIF fusion, total joint replacement, hysterectomy, cholecystectomy, organ donation cases, and more.
Scheduling & Expectations
- Day shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend and call coverage: Variable (details discussed at interview)
- Float required within facility/scope of practice and to outpatient areas as needed
- Maximum 7 days pre-approved time off per contract
- Blackout dates: 11/23–11/29 and 12/21–1/3 (no holiday RTO approved)
Important Notes
- Full compliance required before start; delays result in 2-week push due to bi-weekly orientation
- Clinical screening required to assess fit
- Onboarding: core items/labs due within 48 hours of contract signing; all compliance documents due the Tuesday before your start date
