ICU Registered Nurse — Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for night shifts in a medical/surgical intensive care unit. You'll provide direct care to adult patients with complex, high-acuity conditions requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive medication management, and procedural support.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 19:00–07:00 (3 twelve-hour shifts per week)
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Floating: Required across ICU units
- Patient Ratio: 2–3 patients per nurse
Qualifications & Requirements
- License: New York RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Preferred: Charge nurse experience
- Travel Status: Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility. First-time travelers may be considered.
Core Competencies
You will manage arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines; administer blood products and IV medications; titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips; monitor continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade; interpret dysrhythmias; and perform 12-lead ECGs. Procedural sedation monitoring, emergency medication administration, infection control, and thermoregulation management are central to the role.
Unit Support
Interdisciplinary collaboration includes respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, social work, and unit secretaries.
Orientation
12 hours of unit-specific onboarding provided.
