RN – Medical/Surgical Telemetry | Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE Unit)

Columbia, SC | Night Shift | 13–26 Weeks

This travel RN role is based in a specialized Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit dedicated to hospitalized patients aged 65 and older. The unit combines medical-surgical and telemetry-capable care, with a multidisciplinary team focused on preserving cognitive and physical function and supporting patients in returning to their pre-admission baseline.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
• Contract: 13–26 weeks, starting October 19, 2026
• Every other weekend required
• Float to other units or campuses may be required based on census needs and documented competencies

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Med/Surg Telemetry
• Active SC or multistate RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
• BLS and ACLS required
• 1 year of experience with electronic medical records (required)
• Geriatric-focused care experience strongly preferred

Clinical Skills Required

• IV insertion and maintenance; central, peripheral, and PICC line management
• Blood product administration
• Heparin protocol management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Remote telemetry monitoring

Additional Details

• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, pharmacy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
• Pre-assignment modules required within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 billable hours)
• Orientation held on Mondays
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
• First-time travelers accepted
