GI Lab RN — Travel Contract | Simpsonville, SC
13-Week Contract | Day Shift | 5x8-Hour
This GI Lab travel position requires nurses who are cross-trained and competent in OR/PACU practice. The facility runs a small, specialized unit where GI lab nurses are expected to function confidently across endoscopy and recovery settings — including call coverage.
Shift Details
Rotating day shifts with start times ranging from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM (end times 2:30–4:00 PM). Exact schedule is confirmed with the manager.
Call & Weekend Requirements
- Call: 4–5 days per month (varies by need)
- Weekends: 1 shift every other month (varies by need)
Clinical Scope
- Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
- Procedures: Colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy, circulating, conscious sedation administration and monitoring, recovery from conscious sedation, specimen handling and labeling
- Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response, and social services
Float Requirement
Floating to other units and campuses may be required based on census; nurses float only to units matching documented competencies.
Required Certifications & Credentials
- Active RN license (South Carolina)
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year of GI lab or OR/PACU experience
- Prior travel experience required — first-time travelers are not being considered at this time
- Electronic medical records experience (1 year minimum) required
Onboarding
Orientation begins on Mondays. Pre-assignment modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving system access; up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable.
Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted.
