Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Day Shift | Winston-Salem, NC
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (extensions possible through late February)

About the Unit
This adult Med-Surg/Telemetry unit cares for a wide range of general medical patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. Telemetry is monitored remotely by a dedicated tech; however, nurses must be fully capable of independently interpreting and managing dysrhythmias at the bedside. CNA support is available to assist with patient care needs.
Responsibilities & Clinical Skills Required
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Blood product administration
- Central line and peripheral line care/management
- Non-invasive airway management (nasal cannula, etc.)
- Isolation precautions/PPE
- Rapid Response/Code team utilization
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry RN experience
- No first-time travelers accepted
- Certifications: BLS (required); ACLS and NIHSS required
- License: Active NC or Compact RN license (pending OK for submission)
- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
- Float requirement: must be open to floating to sister units
Scheduling Details
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend (contract needs may vary)
- 36 hours of unit orientation; hospital orientation during week one (daily attendance required)
- No RTO during the first week; additional RTO cannot be requested after signing
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
Scrubs: Navy Blue
