Neuro ICU – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced ICU nurse for a night shift position in a neuro and surgical intensive care unit. You'll work with adult and geriatric patients requiring complex neurological and post-surgical care within a comprehensive stroke center.

Shift & Schedule

• Hours: 18:45 – 07:15 (nights, 3 x 12-hour shifts)
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Yes, to other ICUs and intermediate care units as needed

Clinical Focus

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years critical care nursing experience
• Travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• NC or Compact license
• EKG testing required before start date

Key Skills

• ICP and EVD management
• Mechanical ventilation and weaning
• Arterial line and central line care
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Stroke and acute neuro assessment
• Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun operation

Additional Details

• 24-hour orientation
• Scrubs: navy blue or white (not provided)
• Pre-start online modules required
• All RTO requests must be pre-approved; no requests permitted after booking
