Cardiac Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry Nurse for a 13-week contract on the night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). You'll provide direct nursing care to cardiac patients in a telemetry unit, managing patient monitoring, care coordination, and discharge planning in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition changes to the clinical team
- Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated care
- Execute physician and nursing orders with precision
- Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the interdisciplinary team
- Work with minimal supervision while demonstrating critical thinking and sound clinical judgment
Unit Environment
You'll work in a cardiac telemetry setting supported by patient care technicians, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor technicians. The role requires the ability to thrive in a demanding, stressful environment while maintaining focus and safety.
Schedule & Requirements
- Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM (night shift)
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Weekend Commitment: Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period; holiday requirements based on department needs
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Required Credentials
- Current RN license (verification required)
- BLS/ACLS certification
- Standard Precautions compliance and appropriate use of personal protective equipment
- Onboarding assessments: pharmacology, specialty exam, EKG exam, and core competencies
