Medical-Surgical / Renal Unit — Travel RN
Nashville, TN | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 13-Week Contract
This night-shift travel RN role is based on a medical unit specializing in renal and general medical patients. The unit cares for adults ages 18 and older, including those requiring peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis, as well as a broader general medical population.
Unit & Schedule Details
- Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (nights)
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Estimated start: October 2026
Clinical Scope
- Peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis management
- General medical-surgical care for young adults through older adults
- RNs carry full clinical accountability for their assigned patient teams
- Interdisciplinary team includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns
Float Requirement
Travelers may be floated to other units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on census and acuity. Advance notice will always be given prior to a scheduled shift.
Required Certifications & Credentials
- Active RN license (Nursys-verified)
- BLS certification
- Skills checklist and two professional references required at submission
- Onboarding requirements include: EKG competency exam, core competency assessment, medical-surgical exam, drug screening, background check, and standard immunization documentation (MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB testing)
Ideal Candidate
Experienced medical-surgical or renal nurses with dialysis exposure are encouraged to apply. Comfort with variable staffing environments and float assignments is a plus.
