Med Surg

Med/Surg Float Pool | Nights | Wichita, KS

This 13-week contract places you in a float pool role across multiple med/surg units and campuses throughout the Wichita market. Each shift, you'll call in and be directed to the unit with the highest census need — making adaptability and broad med/surg experience essential.

Shift & Schedule

• 4 x 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week

Clinical Scope

• General medical/surgical patient populations across multiple units
• Ability to function independently across varied unit environments
• EKG interpretation competency required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Nursys verification required for submission)
• Current med/surg skills checklist
• Two professional references
• EKG exam and core competency assessment completed during onboarding
• Point-of-care glucose testing competency
• Standard immunization documentation: MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Influenza
• Two-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/T-spot)
• Respiratory fit test
• Criminal background check and drug screen

Ideal Candidate

You're a confident, self-directed RN comfortable stepping into unfamiliar units and quickly building rapport with new teams. Prior float pool or multi-unit experience is a strong plus.
