Labor & Delivery Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse for a 13-week night shift assignment (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll provide comprehensive obstetric care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and antepartum settings, including couplet care and basic medical-surgical skills for post-hysterectomy patients.
Schedule & Requirements
- Shift: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday each week
- Orientation: 48 hours (bi-weekly scheduling available)
- Contract: 13 weeks; flexible on length and return-to-origin timing, but at least one holiday shift required
Clinical Scope
You'll manage:
- Labor and admission
- Antepartum and high-risk obstetric patients
- Vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Postpartum and couplet care
- Fetal monitoring (external and internal)
- Newborn assessment and Level I nursery care
- Post-hysterectomy patients requiring basic med-surg nursing
Required Certifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years L&D/OB experience
- BLS, FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring), NRP, AWHONN certification
- Valid state or compact license
- Travel experience preferred
Preferred
- STABLE certification
Compliance Notes
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Two professional references (supervisory capacity, within 2 years)
- Updated Nursys report required at submission
