Emergency Department RN – Night Shift | Travel Contract

Burlington, NC | 13-Week Contract | Nights

This Emergency Department position is a fast-paced, all-acuity role caring for patients across all age groups — from neonates to geriatrics. The unit manages a high volume of daily visits and specializes in stroke care, STEMI response, and behavioral health, alongside cancer, sepsis, and general medical emergencies.

Schedule

• 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; occasional 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM as needed)
• Up to every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call obligations
• Self-scheduling
• 36-hour orientation

Clinical Skills Required

• , dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care
• Central line care, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation
• Blood product administration, procedural sedation
• Neurological monitoring, CVA/TBI/spinal cord injury management
• Behavioral health patient experience

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ED experience; first-time travelers welcome
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, STARR/Behavioral
• STEMI and stroke facility experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• No local candidates within 50 miles
• RTO must be submitted with initial application
