Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract. This is a night shift position in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting serving patients across all age groups.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shifts: 3 × 12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

• Weekend coverage required based on department needs
• No float requirement; no on-call expectation
• Pre-approved time off must be submitted at the time of application

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience
• Current California RN license (in hand at time of submission)
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• Current Nursys report (pulled within 2 weeks)
• One professional reference within the past 2 years

Clinical Scope

You'll manage high-acuity patients including:

• Arterial line and central line management
• Mechanical ventilation and respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP)
• Blood product administration and IV vasopressor management
• Procedural sedation and continuous IV sedation
• Acute stroke, traumatic injury, and critical care cases
• ABG interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Seizure management and trauma resuscitation

Orientation

• 24 hours of orientation including approximately 8 hours of documentation system training

Additional Requirements

• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• Candidates will float within the hospital based on census needs
