Labor & Delivery / Postpartum RN — Travel Contract

Eureka, CA | Days | 13-Week Contract | ASAP Start

This opportunity is open to first-time travelers and is well-suited for RNs with strong Labor & Delivery and postpartum backgrounds. The unit serves a culturally diverse patient population with a focus on high-risk OB care, and RNs are expected to circulate on cesarean sections.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift, 3×12-hour shifts (06:00–18:00)
• Self-scheduling
• Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
• Holiday commitment required (3 of 5: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Contract Details

• Duration: 26 weeks
• Start: ASAP / October 2026
• Orientation: 40 hours
• RTO: Up to 7 days; all requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
• Float: Required within scope; travelers float first to meet facility needs, including potential float to nearby sister facilities

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of L&D/postpartum experience
• Active California RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted

Certifications Required

• BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

Clinical Skills Include

• Labor & Delivery, couplet care, and postpartum hemorrhage management
• Circulating for cesarean sections and high-risk deliveries
• External/internal fetal monitoring, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration
• Newborn assessment, breastfeeding/lactation support, neonatal hypoglycemia management
• Epidural anesthesia support, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications
