Labor & Delivery / Postpartum RN — Travel Contract

Eureka, CA | Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This Labor & Delivery and Postpartum unit cares for a high-risk OB population with a culturally diverse patient mix. RNs are expected to circulate on cesarean sections and assist with high-risk deliveries in addition to providing couplet and postpartum care.

Shift & Schedule

• Days, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks | Start: ASAP
• 40-hour orientation provided
• Float within scope required; travelers are first to float and may be asked to float to nearby sister facilities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of L&D/Postpartum experience
• Active California RN license (compact license must be in hand at submission; pending license not accepted)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

Clinical Scope

• Postpartum preferred; L&D experience essential
• Circulating for C-sections and recovering post-op patients
• External and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin management
• Newborn assessment, hypoglycemia management, phototherapy, and breastfeeding/lactation support
• High-risk antepartum care, hemorrhage management, and pregnancy-induced hypertension protocols
• Patient age groups: neonates, infants, and adults

• First-time travelers welcome
• RTO limited to 7 days; all requests must be submitted upfront
• 2 references required covering the past 3 years
• Local candidates (within 50 miles) accepted
