NICU Registered Nurse — Night Shift | Los Angeles, CA

Contract: 15 weeks | Start Date: November 30 (hard start, no exceptions)

Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour (19:00–07:30)

About the Unit

This Level III NICU manages a diverse neonatal population ranging from 22 weeks gestational age to term. The unit cares for high-acuity neonates requiring ventilator support, therapeutic hypothermia, bubble CPAP, and phototherapy. Clinical scope also includes arterial line management, central line care, gavage and enteral feedings, respiratory distress syndrome management, and care of neonates with complex diagnoses.

Schedule & Expectations

• Float within the unit may be required
• On-call placement possible if not needed for a scheduled shift
• Scrubs: Royal Blue

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS
• NRP
• STABLE

Required Skills

• Ventilator management
• High-risk delivery experience
• Familiarity with oxygen delivery systems, thermoregulation, and transcutaneous monitoring

Minimum Qualifications

• 3 years of NICU experience in a Level III or IV setting strongly preferred; candidates with 2 years and a strong clinical skill set will be considered
• First-time travelers welcome
• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• An advanced EKG exam is required prior to start (onsite, 80% passing score, two attempts permitted)

Additional Notes

• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• No requested time off during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Smoke/nicotine-free facility; arrive free of tobacco odor
