Med Surg Tele

Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Wilmington, NC

This 26-week contract places you on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs. The unit manages a diverse patient population including those with dementia, diabetes, ia, COPD, sepsis, GI bleeds, anemia, hip fractures, and encephalopathy, as well as patients requiring isolation precautions.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 18:45–07:15 (4×12-hour shifts)
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within or near the facility as needed
• Storm/Hurricane Team participation required; contract staff may be called in during declared emergencies

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• First-time travelers welcome
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Key skills: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, heparin and insulin drip titration, blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, PCA management, peripheral line care, wound care/wound vac, and non-invasive airway management

Certifications & Licensure

• BLS required
• NC or Compact license (pending acceptable at submission)

Orientation

• 24 hours of unit orientation, including hospital orientation during week 1 with required daily classes
• Pre-start online modules must be completed before your first day

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Navy
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Up to 7 days of pre-approved RTO (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during the first week; no additional RTO requests after signing
