Labor & Delivery RN — Thousand Oaks, CA
13-Week Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 Hours/Week
This Labor & Delivery unit manages the full spectrum of obstetric care, including high-risk antepartum patients, laboring patients, and newborn care in the first hour of life. The unit supports vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and outpatient testing in an active, collaborative environment.
Required Skills & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP (required)
- Vaginal exam proficiency
- C-section circulator and post-CS recovery experience
- Care of high-risk antepartum patients (gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes)
- Management of obstetrical emergencies, including OB hemorrhage
- Newborn care within the first hour of life, including initial breastfeeding support
- Strong critical thinking and customer service skills
Preferred
- Scrub experience
- NCC certification in Inpatient OB or EFM
Procedures Performed
- Labor and delivery management, including vaginal exams
- Outpatient testing: NST, CST, BPP
- OB , OBED, MSE
- External cephalic versions, cervical cerclage, OP injections
Additional Details
- Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Float area: Mother Baby unit
- Dress code: Navy scrubs
- California RN license required
