Emergency Department RN — Corpus Christi, TX

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract | 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week

This Corpus Christi, TX emergency department is seeking an experienced Travel RN for a 13-week night shift assignment (19:00–07:00), starting September 14, 2026.

About the Unit

The ED manages a broad acuity range, from low-acuity ESI 4 & 5 patients through critical ESI 1 presentations, including time-sensitive Stroke, STEMI, Sepsis, and Trauma cases. The department is actively expanding its trauma capabilities and is committed to continuous improvement in patient satisfaction and timely care delivery.

Procedures & Clinical Scope

• Patient assessments and documentation
• Medication administration
• Wound care and splinting
• IV placement, lab draws, and urine collection
• Full ESI 1–5 patient care

Schedule & Team Structure

Night shifts are staffed with a charge nurse, nurse, 4–5 bedside nurses (including one mid-shift), and a tech. Mandatory shift huddle occurs at 07:00 and 19:00 unless the nurse is actively providing critical care. EMTALA training is required.

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Level II or Level III trauma experience
• TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS
• Compassion, urgency, and strong teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CEN or TCRN certification
• CPI certification
• 2+ years of emergency department experience

Dress Code

Royal Blue scrubs preferred. Sunday seasonal team jerseys (e.g., Astros, Cowboys) are welcome.
