Medical/Surgical RN — Travel Contract | Saint Johnsbury, VT

Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per week, 36 hours guaranteed | Every other weekend required | Starts Wednesdays

Unit Overview

This general Med/Surg unit cares primarily for adult patients, with occasional pediatric cases. Clinical scope includes medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, and swing bed care. The unit emphasizes holistic care, addressing patients' physiological, psychosocial, spiritual, and developmental needs across a diverse patient population. Candidates must be comfortable in a general acute care environment — this is not a dedicated pediatric floor.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver comprehensive patient care using the Nursing Process
• Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Lead and Nursing Supervisor throughout the shift
• Manage a mix of medical, surgical, and observation patients at varying acuity levels

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of acute care RN experience
• Current Vermont RN license or multi-state (Compact) RN license
• BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certification — required prior to start date

Logistics

• Housing: Candidates are responsible for arranging their own housing; a local resource list is available upon request
• Transportation: Reliable personal vehicle is essential — no public transit or rideshare services in the area
• Onboarding: All credentials must be uploaded at least five business days before your start date
