ICU Travel RN — Arlington, VA

13-Week Contract | Nights | 4×12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

This ICU position supports high-acuity critical care patients requiring intensive monitoring, advanced hemodynamic support, and complex interventions. Float coverage to cardiovascular ICU, cardiovascular step-down, and cardiac telemetry units may be required on a rotational basis.

Schedule

• Nights: 3×12s standard; 4×12s available (overtime applies after 48 hours/week — indicate preference at submission)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage expected; time-off requests should be minimal and submitted upfront

Clinical Scope

• Management of ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients
• Titration of vasoactive and sedation drips
• Arterial lines, central lines, and continuous hemodynamic monitoring
• Rapid response and code participation
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with intensivists and care teams

Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license or Compact license — must be in hand at time of submission (pending licenses will not be accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• At least one prior completed travel assignment required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Willingness to float to cardiovascular units as needed

Additional Details

• Contract start: ASAP (exact date based on charting system training requirements)
• All travelers must complete an onboarding clinical documentation training class; length depends on recent charting system experience
• Flu vaccine required October 1 – March 31; COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Smoke/nicotine-free facility
