Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Nurse — Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking two RN positions for its Progressive Care Unit, working night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) with an every-other-weekend rotation. This is a 13-week contract with 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Clinical Scope
You'll provide direct patient care in a progressive care setting, managing patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and intervention. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, post-operative care, and medical-surgical nursing. You'll work independently and assume charge nurse duties as needed.
Float Requirements & Schedule
Float assignments to the Emergency Department and Maternity Care are expected based on facility needs. Weekend rotation is every other weekend.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (Vermont)
- BLS certification
- Ability to work independently and perform charge nurse responsibilities
- Flexibility with unit float assignments
Professional Development
Quarterly education sessions are mandatory for all contract staff.
Location
Newport, Vermont, located in the Northeast Kingdom near the Canadian border. The area offers outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling. Personal transportation is strongly recommended due to limited public transit.
